A sleek app to build a workout program, and then follow up with the actual data during the workout.
Many apps are either overly complicated, so adding in weights and reps takes too much time in the gym, or they are too simple, like for example excel, and tracking the actual workout is not guaranteed.
With gymbook, workouts can be set with sets and rest times, so that when adding a set of a certain exercise, a timer will show when the next set is due, and when all sets are done, the app will automatically move to the next exercise.
Additionally, the app also tracks all progress and it is easy to see if the strength is increasing or plateauing.
Used technology:
Running on vue.js on google sites with a Firebase as backend and Google authentication for user login.
Built as PWA App (still only supported by Android and most browsers), with support for offline data and adding the app to the home screen
Common Sense Consulting believes that as long as apps don’t need much data or device features like multitouch Input, it is time and cost-saving to provide web apps instead of native apps.
Planned updates:
- In the Future it will be possible to follow predefined workouts from other users, for example, the personal trainer can create a workout and their clients can subscribe to them and follow the workouts.
- In a coming Release, a new PR section will be added with actual 1RM (if an exercise has been performed at maximum strength for 1 repetition) or with calculated 1RM (1 rep maximum) calculated from sets with more than 1 repetition.
SOUNDS GOOD?
